Shark Bites Off Man's Pinky

Occurred on July 17, 2022 / Off Summerland Key
: We hooked a lemon shark. It was hooked in the gills and I was trying to get the hook out when the shark took a sharp turn and grabbed my left hand around the pinky area. We immediately pulled anchor and Mandy cut the line as Courtnee and Bekah applied a tourniquet to my arm under the elbow. We started heading in and called 911 on the way. We applied a second tourniquet about halfway into our ride. The ambulance was waiting at a nearby marina and evaluated me and decided it was best to helicopter me to Miami to Jackson South Hospital.
