Biosecurity measures tightened amid regional outbreak
  • 2 years ago
Sanitised foot-pads will be rolled out across every international airport in Australia for inbound travellers from Indonesia amid a regional outbreak of foot and mouth disease. The mats are designed to pick-up bacteria and organic material carried on the shoes of travellers and are the latest in a raft of measures to prevent the disease reaching Australia. Federal agriculture minister Murray Watt say the sanitised mats will be installed at airports across the country in coming days.
