Former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe was feared dead on Friday after being shot twice at a campaign event in the Nara region. This comes as a shock to many as Japan has one of the lowest rates of gun violence in the world. And, that has a lot to do with Japan’s strict laws on private gun ownership.
