Hours after Former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe was shot at in Nara of Japan, former Indian Ambassador to Japan Sujan Chinoy said that PM Modi had given a special place to the island nation in its foreign policy and that the special relation shared between PM Modi and Abe contributed a great deal for both nations.

“We woke up to the devastating news that there has been an attempt on life of Shinzo Abe in Nara. Greatly saddens me to comment on this situation right now.  He had done a great deal for the bilateral relationship. PM Modi had given a special place to Japan in its foreign policy,” said Sujan Chinoy, Former Ambassador of India to Japan.
