Shinzo Abe, Former Japanese PM Shot During Election Speech in Nara, Said to be Critical

Former Japanese prime minister Shinzo Abe was shot twice in the chest while he was campaigning in the city of Nara. Reports say he was hit in the back, twice by a man wielding an improvised handgun. Abe was soon airlifted to a hospital and is said to be critical. The suspect was taken into police custody by security personnel at the site.
