Mohammad Zubair Arrest: UN, CPJ, Editors Guild of India, Opp Parties Condemn Remand

Mohadmmad Zubair, the co-founder of fact-checking news platform Alt News was sent to four days of police custody over a 2018 tweet with a still from the film, Kisi se Na Kehna. Zubair’s advocate Vrinda Grover, who opposed the police remand said his arrest over this borders on absurdity. Condemnation over his arrest has poured in from all quarters – the UN, journalists, opposition politicians, journalists’ organisations both global and national, celebrities, and concerned citizens.
