Rajya Sabha polls: BJP bags Karnataka, while Congress wins in Rajasthan; MVA suffers setback

The results of the Rajya Sabha poll were declared on Saturday. Out of the 16 seats up for grabs across Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Haryana and Karnataka, the BJP won eight, thereby strengthening its position in the Upper House of Parliament.

In a blow to the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), the BJP snatched up three of the six Rajya Sabha seats from Maharashtra and three seats from Karnataka.

In Rajasthan, the ruling Congress won three of the four seats being contested, while the BJP secured one.
