The Congress on Wednesday slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP over the action against Nupur Sharma and Naveen Jindal over the Prophet row and said India has been shamed for the last eight years on the global platform. "As a country, we had to face a lot of shame in the past week. The entire world had a beautiful image of India as a country which is proud of the kind of disparate contradictions that it has taken along," Congress national spokesperson Pawan Khera said.
