PM Modi in Japan for Quad meet; Vishnu Stambh versus Qutub Minar faceoff; and more
  • 2 years ago
PM Modi is on a two-day visit to Japan to attend the Quad summit and hold bilateral meetings with US President Biden, Japanese PM Kishida and Australian PM Albanese. Significant security issues in the Indo-Pacific region are likely to come up at the Quad summit. Meanwhile, the Qutub Minar controversy, similar to the current Gyanvapi mosque row, erupted after ASI’s ex-regional director Dharamveer Sharma claimed that the Qutub Minar was constructed by Hindu emperor Raja Vikramaditya and not by Qutb al-Din Aibak, to study the direction of the sun.
