Karti Chidambaram Raided By CBI In Alleged Bribe Case, Father P Chidambaram Says 'Timing Interesting’

On May 17, Congress MP Karti Chidambaram’s house and offices were searched by the CBI. Reportedly, the searches were conducted over allegations of bribery. As reported by NDTV, CBI has accused Karti Chidambaram of receiving Rs 50 lakh as bribe to facilitate the visa of 250 Chinese nationals for a power project in Punjab between 2010-14. On May 17 morning, CBI officials searched the residence of P Chidambaram as well. The NDTV report further said that the CBI team questioned the staff present at his house and took some papers with them. Shortly after the raids, Karti Chidambaram tweeted, “I have lost count, how many times has it been? Must be a record.” P Chidambaram questioned the timing of the search. He tweeted, “The search team found nothing and seized nothing. I may point out that the timing of the search is interesting.” Watch the video to know more.
