The Congress on Thursday termed the arrest of Gujarat legislator Jignesh Mevani “undemocratic” and “unconstitutional". Former Congress chief Rahul Gandhi attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Twitter accusing him of using state machinery to “crush” dissent. Jignesh Mevani, Vadgam MLA, was arrested by Assam Police under IT Act on Wednesday.
