China Covid-19 Numbers: Shanghai Put Under Lockdown As Cases Spike

On March 31, Shanghai authorities appealed to residents to keep cooperating with the strict regulations. Several restrictions have been imposed in Shanghai to stop the spread of Covid-19. The plea came as Covid-19 cases in Shanghai eased, for the first time in about two weeks. Outbreak of the highly contagious Omicron variant began in Shanghai nearly a month ago, reported Reuters. As reported by Reuters, on March 30, Shanghai recorded 5,298 locally transmitted new asymptomatic cases and 355 symptomatic cases.
