उत्तर प्रदेश जनसंख्या से लिहाज़ से जितना बड़ा राज्य है, उतनी ही विशाल है यहां की तहज़ीब।गंगा-जमुनी संस्कृति वाले इस प्रदेश की कई ऐसा बातें हैं, जो इसे निराली बनाती हैं। ऐसी ही कुछ परंपराओं में से एक को खुद में संजोए हुए है यहां का बाराबंकी शहर। होली का अवसर हो और उत्तर प्रदेश के बाराबंकी शहर का ज़िक्र ना हो तो एक बात अधुरी सी रह जाती है। लेकिन यहां की होली ज़रा हट के होती है, क्योंकि यहां होली के अबीर-गुलाल की रंगत में, हिन्दू-मुस्लिम भाईचारे की एक अनूठी परंपरा और रंगीनियत भर देती है।
