शब-ए-बारात की सारी रात इबादत और तिलावत का दौर चलता है. इस रात लोग अपने मृत परिजनों के लिए मगफिरत की दुआएं की जाती हैं. लेकिन कुछ लोग इस रात को शोर-शराबा करते हैं, जश्न मनाते हैं और आतिशबाजियां भी छुड़ाते हैं. लेकिन उलेमा इस दिन आतिशबाजियां छुड़ाना हराम मानते हैं. उनके अनुसार शब-ए-बरात की रात जश्न नहीं केवल इबादत और प्रार्थना की जाती है.

Throughout the night of Shab-e-Barat, there is a period of worship and recitation. On this night people pray for Magfirat for their deceased relatives. But some people make noise on this night, celebrate and also release fireworks. But the Ulema considers it haram to release fireworks on this day. According to him, the night of Shab-e-Barat is not celebrated, only prayer and prayer is done.
