Pamela Adlon, creator of "Better Things," discusses season five, which is the final season of the series, with Salon's Melanie McFarland. "There was a real good work opportunity for me that I had to say no to in order to pioneer this and [get to] where I am now," Adlon said. "My show wasn't a sure thing. It wasn't picked up, but I needed to stop everything and completely focus on getting the show made."
