Katherine Heigl on resisting Hollywood and finding her own lane

Katherine Heigl joined “Salon Talks” to talk about season two of “Firefly Lane” on Netflix. The show’s theme of lifelong female friendship hooked Heigl immediately. “I was so deeply moved by these two women. Their story, I found it incredibly engaging and incredibly relatable,” she said. The actress also opened up to Salon’s Alli Joseph about why she named her production company after a Robert Frost poem. “It's me, in a way, thumbing my nose at what Hollywood has told me to value my whole life,” Heigl said. “If I had fallen to prey to the vanity of all of this, to the early praise of youth and beauty, I think emotionally I would be pretty destroyed by the time I hit 40.”
