Russia-Ukraine Conflict: UN General Assembly Special Session Convened, Moscow Defends War, Kyiv Compares Putin To Hitler, Secretary General Calls For Peace

On February 28, the United Nations opened an emergency special session of the General Assembly. The session was conducted to discuss Russia's invasion of Ukraine. A minute of silence was observed for those killed in the conflict. This was the 11th time in the UN's history that such a session was held. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said, “The fighting in Ukraine must stop.” Sergiy Kyslytsya, Ukraine's Ambassador to the UN said, “If Ukraine does not survive, the United Nations will not survive. Have no illusions.” Vassily Nebenzia, Russia’s Ambassador to the UN said, “Russia is seeking to end this war.” Watch the video to know more.
