The stage is set for Uttar Pradesh's second phase election for 55 seats spread across nine districts. These areas are considered to be the strongholds of the Samajwadi Party, the main opponent of the ruling BJP in the state. However, the BJP had won 38 of 55 seats in 2017, while the Samajwadi Party had bagged 15 and the Congress two. Polling will be held on Monday from 7 am to 6 pm.
