NPR reports a recent poll suggests almost a quarter of Americans believe violence is often acceptable to employ against the government.
The same poll also shows 1 in 10 Americans believe violence to be justifiable "right now.".
Among Republican males, this figure
is closer to 1 in 5, according to NPR.
The poll, conducted by The COVID States Project, asked 23,000 Americans if they believe it is "ever justifiable to engage in violent protest against the government?" .
It appears more Americans are
now more likely than ever to
contemplate violent protest.
Almost 1 in 4 participants of the study believed violence to be "definitely"
or "probably" a justified action
against the government.
Experts say such sentiments are
no surprise when considering our
education regarding American history.
