India witnessed a single-day spike of over 3 lakh Covid-19 cases, as per the data released by the Union health ministry on Thursday. With 3,17,532 cases, it is the highest single-day tally recorded in the last 8 months. India also saw 491 more deaths due to Covid-19, pushing the nationwide toll to 4,87,693. With fresh cases and deaths, the active caseload in the country rose to 19,24,051.
