Amarinder Singh, BJP want deferment of Punjab polls; U'khand minister Harak Singh Rawat expelled; more

After Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi wrote to the Election Commission of India (ECI), demanding the deferment of the February 14 state Assembly polls in view of Guru Ravidas Jayanti celebrated on February 16, the BJP and Captain Amarinder Singh's Punjab Lok Congress (PLC) on Sunday raised a similar request. Meanwhile, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami suspended minister Harak Rawat from the state Cabinet. He has also been suspended from the BJP for six years, citing indiscipline.
