It has been six weeks since the world was introduced to Omicron — the fifth coronavirus variant of concern. Now, medical experts across the world are looking at ways and means to minimise the death count and prevent severe symptoms of Covid caused by the Omicron variant.

The existing drug, Paxlovid, made by Pfizer, looks like the best bet to treat Covid at this stage, experts said.
