Indian Army under the aegis of Dagger Division organised ‘Pigeon Flying Competition’ at Ladies Park of Old Town area in Baramulla district of North Kashmir. The aim of the competition was to promote village games and sportsmanship among people of the Valley. The Baramulla Municipal administration also supported Indian Army in organising the event.

भारतीय सेना (Indian Army) ने उत्तरी कश्मीर (Kashmir) के बारामूला ( Baramulla) जिले के ओल्ड टाउन क्षेत्र के लेडीज पार्क में 'कबूतर उड़ान प्रतियोगिता' (Pigeon Flying Competition) का आयोजन किया। प्रतियोगिता का उद्देश्य घाटी के लोगों के बीच गांव के खेल और खेल भावना को बढ़ावा देना था। बता दें कि कबूतर शांति का प्रतीक होता है जिसके कारण ये प्रतियोगिता कश्मीर घाटी में काफी लोकप्रिय खेल है. इस खेल के प्रति लोगों की दिलचस्पी बढ़े और पारंपरिक खेल जिंदा रहे इसी कारण से कबूतर उड़ान प्रतियोगिता रखी गई थी।
