Congress leader Rahul Gandhi called for the removal of Union Minister of State (Home) Ajay Mishra in connection with the violence in Lakhimpur Kheri on October 3.

Speaking in Lok Sabha, he said, “We should be allowed to speak about the murder that was committed in Lakhimpur Kheri, where there was an involvement of the Minister and about which it has been said that it was a conspiracy. The Minister who killed farmers should resign and be punished.”

Shortly after, amid protests over the issue by Opposition party MPs, the House was adjourned till 2 pm.

Meanwhile, the Rajya Sabha was adjourned within nine minutes of proceedings starting this morning, amidst continued protests by the Opposition.
