First two cases of Omicron detected | New Day

Authorities are now tracing the close contacts of the country's first cases of the Omicron variant. Experts say the new variant is four times more transmissible than Delta which means one positive case could infect up to 10 people. Early studies in South Africa show the variant causes a milder disease.
