First confirmed Omicron case in Delhi; Centre asks states to follow 'test, track, treat' formula
  • 2 years ago
The fifth case of Omicron in India was detected in Delhi after a traveller who returned from Tanzania tested positive. The patient has been admitted to LNJP Hospital. While Gujarat and Karnataka reported one case each, Karnataka has reported two cases so far and is on high alert. The Union Health Ministry has asked states and Union Territories (UTs) to take necessary steps to prevent the transmission of the mutated virus. The states and UTs have been asked to test, track and treat to stop the spread. The ministry's move came after weekly positivity and death rates witnessed a rise in a few states.
