India’s gross domestic product (GDP) has grown by 8:4 per cent during the July-September quarter of 2021-22, data released by the central government showed. This growth is less as compared to the 20.1 per cent seen in the June quarter of the current fiscal. There was a contraction of 7.4 per cent in the July-September quarter of 2020-21. All India Radio News tweeted, “India's GDP, for the second quarter of the current fiscal, logged fastest growth among major economies in the world.” According to National Statistics Office (NSO) data, manufacturing output increased 5.5 per cent during the period while the construction segment grew 7.5 per cent in the second quarter. As per NSO, the household consumption rose in the second quarter July-September, of FY22 despite the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, tweeted All India Radio News.
