China's ruling party approves rare resolution; US opens borders to travelers; more

China's ruling Communist Party approved a rare resolution on Thursday elevating President Xi Jinping's status in its history, in a move seen as consolidating his authority and likelihood of securing an unprecedented third leadership term next year. 

And, the United States opened its borders to travellers. The first group of tourists to the United States from India, since the outbreak of the pandemic, flew from Kochi on Friday. A group of 24 tourists took off from the international airport here.
