On Diwali, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath offers prayers at Hanuman Garhi Ram temple in Ayodhya. Earlier, on Wednesday, Adityanath takes part in the Deepostav celebrations. The government light 12 lakh earthen lamps, nine lakh of which lit on the banks of the Saryu. This is the first time that festivities have been scaled up to this level and the administration has sought the assistance of over 12,000 volunteers to help light the diyas.
