Having lost his place in the Indian T20 International XI, Shikhar Dhawan was under pressure to perform in the opening ODI against England with the hosts spoilt for choice in all batting positions in Pune on Tuesday. Dhawan scored 98 valuable runs opening the innings with Rohit Sharma. It laid the perfect platform for debutants Krunal Pandya and KL Rahul to go berserk in the death overs as India scored a mammoth 317 for five to win the match against England by 66 runs.
