Species on Torres Strait Islands help conservation effort
  • 3 years ago
One scientist's labour of love could prove a key indicator of climate change impact on the Torres Strait Islands. Dr Trevor Lambkin spent almost 40 years travelling to the area to catalogue butterflies. He has collated data from as far back from 1843 and details of butterfly species from across 38 islands, Islet and Cays of Torres Strait. It is a first-of-its-kind database that will help with conservation efforts in the region.
