The Western Railways is planning to use surveillance drones to keep a bird’s eye watch of certain locations. They are procuring two drone cameras for the surveillance and are training their staff to operate them. This technology will help Western Railways in reducing the response time in case of emergency. Drones can be flown at a height of 200 meters above the ground and can cover a radius of 2 kilometers. The drone camera can be in flight for 25 minutes.
