A scientist's approach, big and small, to fighting climate change
  • 3 years ago
“It’s not up to presidents to save us,” says climate scientist Katharine Hayhoe. During a conversation with Salon’s Alli Joseph, Hayhoe, author of “Saving Us: A Climate Scientist’s Case for Hope and Healing in a Divided World,” says “It’s up to us at our place of work, our place of worship, the cities and towns that we’re in… those conversations need to be happening everywhere.” Hayhoe was discouraged and frustrated by Trump’s decision to remove the United States from the Paris Agreement. While she says it’s great to have an administration move in the right direction, as with Biden’s reversal of the withdrawal, it’s Hayhoe’s clear view that “it’s up to all of us to save ourselves.”
