'Maring' makes landfall over Fuga Island, Cagayan — PAGASA

Severe tropical storm “Maring” (international name “Kompasu”) has made landfall over Fuga Island, Cagayan at 8:10 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 11, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

As of 10 p.m., the center of Maring was already over the coastal waters of Aparri, Cagayan. It was packing maximum sustained winds of 95 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 145 kph while moving westward at 15 kph.
