Healthgiri 2021: Children above 12 to start receiving Covid-19 vaccines in October, says Dr Ravi Malik

At the India Today Healthgiri Awards 2021 in Delhi on Gandhi Jayanti, Dr. Ravi Malik, Paediatrician, Radix Healthcare, said that children above 12 will start receiving vaccines for Covid-19 by October this year.
“Around 40% of the population is below 18, which is about 48 crores. Possibly, by October, Zydus Cadila’s vaccine will be given to kids above 12. This vaccine is not even an injection; this is an intradermal vaccine that will be given through jet. This vaccine is given intradermally, which means it has to be given in the skin. A fast jet will help give the dose, so injection is not required,” Dr Malik said.
