'A standup paddleboarder exploring the beautiful waters of Puerto Madryn, Argentina attracted the attention of a curious Southern Right Whale.
Filmed by Maximiliano Jonas on August 31, 2021, this drone footage features the colossal mammal following the subject by swimming right under their paddleboard.
The filmer commented: "Here's a clip of a Southern Right Whale playing with a person on a standup paddleboard. It's like the whale was trying to get the attention of the person, just like a puppy does when it wants you to play with it. The only difference is that this puppy is bigger, duh."
The whale is eventually joined by one of its buddies but it doesn't come too close to the surface despite expressing interest in keeping up with the paddleboarder.
