न्यूजीलैंड क्रिकेट बोर्ड ने उस वक्त पाकिस्तान को बड़ी चोट दे दी थी जब रावलपिंडी में खेले जाने वाले पहले डे-नाइट वनडे मुकाबले से पहले ही सुरक्षा कारणों से पूरा दौरा ही रद्द करने का का ऐलान कर दिया था, न्यूजीलैंड के बाद इंग्लैंड क्रिकेट बोर्ड ने भी पाकिस्तान का दौरा रद कर दिया, इस तरह पाकिस्तान को दोहरा झटका लगा है, कीवियों की टीम तो पाकिस्तान में आकर बिना कोई मैच खेले ही वापस चल दी थी, रिपोर्टों के अनुसार, ब्लैककैप्स के लिए काम पर रखी गई सुरक्षा एजेंसियों के लिए पाक बोर्ड को भारी कीमत चुकानी पड़ी है, पीसीबी को लगभग 27 लाख रुपए सिर्फ सुरक्षा के लिए तैनात अधिकारियों के खाने का बिल के रुप में भरने है।
