Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday announced his visit to the United States, which he described as an "occasion to strengthen Indo-US ties".

"At the invitation of Joe Biden, I am visiting the USA to continue our dialogue, and exchange views on areas of mutual interest. Also, I am looking forward to meeting Vice President Kamala Harris to discuss global issues and explore ideas for cooperation between India and the US," PM Modi tweeted.

PM Modi's US tour will primarily focus on the pressing global challenges, including the Covid-19 pandemic, the need to combat terrorism, climate change, and other important issues.
