Punjab Congress Legislature Party meeting at 11 am

After Amarinder Singh resigned as the Punjab chief minister, the Congress central leadership is likely to name the new leader in a legislature party meeting on Sunday, with under five months to go for the state elections. The All India Congress Committee (AICC) will hold a meeting of the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) of Punjab at 11 am. Party president Sonia Gandhi will be finalizing a new legislature party leader who will succeed Amarinder Singh as the chief minister of the state. Senior Congress leaders Harish Rawat and Ajay Maken will be present at the meeting. Notably, Amarinder Singh resigned as Punjab's chief minister, saying he felt humiliated at the way the party handled the infighting in the Congress state unit. There are many names in the race of new CM including Sunil Jakhad, Ambika Soni, and Pratap Singh Bajwa. Watch this video.
