Virat Kohli becomes fastest captain to score 5000 Test Runs

The 31-year-old further became the fastest cricketer overall to reach the milestone in the longest format of the game, surpassing none other than legendary Australian cricketer Ricky Ponting. Ponting had accumulated the run-tally of 5000 Test runs in 54 matches and 97 innings, which the Indian skipper surpassed having reached the milestone in his 53rd match.
