In an effort to keep the Covid-19 situation under control, the police imposed Section 144 of the CrPc in Mumbai for Ganesh Chaturthi from September 10 to 19. According to a new order issued on Thursday, devotees would also not be allowed to visit pandals.

Ganpati processions - the main attraction during the Ganesh Chaturthi festive days - have also been disallowed to ensure no large gathering takes place in the financial capital of India.
