All India Majlis Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi began his campaign for the Uttar Pradesh election in 2022 from Ayodhya on Tuesday. A controversy was triggered when he referred to Ayodhya as 'Faizabad'.
The BJP has accused Owaisi of trying to divide Hindus and Muslims. Some of Ayodhya's Hindu seers are also upset about the remark.
