J.D. Power Completes First-Ever Survey on Electric Vehicle Options

J.D. Power ($JD@China) recently released the results of its first-ever survey of electric vehicle charging options for drivers in the United States. The study focused on plug-in hybrid and battery electric vehicle drivers. Tesla ($TSLA@US), Volta, and ChargePoint ($CHPT@US) ranked first and second, respectively, regarding charging options away from home. The 2021 U.S. Electric Vehicle Experience Public Charging Study surveyed 6,647 owners of battery-electric and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles from January through June. It reports public charging availability varies regionally in the U.S. and remains one of the least satisfying aspects of electric vehicle ownership. The survey found that U.S. EV owners are frustrated by a lack of options. Where they do have access to public charging stations, EV owners encounter out-of-service chargers and long lines.
