Desperate Afghans try to flee Kabul; Sushmita Dev joins TMC; more

A day after the Taliban took control of the capital city Kabul, hundreds of Afghan nationals thronged to Kabul's Hamid Karzai International Airport to probably take the last few flights leaving Afghanistan. Videos shared on different social media platforms showed hordes of Afghan nationals jostling to climb into an aeroplane to fly out of the country. Meanwhile, Sushmita Dev, the former president of the Congress party's women's wing, joined the Trinamool Congress on Monday afternoon, saying that she was “beginning a new chapter of public service”.
