Afghanistan: Taliban Captures Eight Provincial Capitals, India Asks Its Citizens To Take First Flight Out

Reportedly, Taliban has captured eight provincial capitals in Afghanistan in the past five days. Cities of Sar-e-Pol, Sheberghan, Aybak, Kunduz, Taluqan, and Pul-e-Khumri have succumbed to Taliban control amid violent assault on these places. Farah in southwest Afghanistan and Zaranj also fell to Taliban control. Meanwhile, India on August 10, began evacuating its nationals & diplomats from Mazar-e-Sharif in northern Afghanistan. Indian officials & diplomats from the Indian consulate in Mazar-e-Sharif & nationals living in the city will be evacuated by Indian Air Force (IAF) aircraft, tweeted the Consulate General of India in Mazar-e-Sharif. Amid the raging violence in Afghanistan, star leg-spinner Rashid Khan took to Twitter and appealed for peace.
