Colorado Sees Mudslides, Flash-flood Warnings In Place, Major Interstate Highway I-70 Shut As Extreme Weather Patterns Intensify
  • 3 years ago
After a string of wildfires in the U.S. west coast, extreme weather patterns have brought mudslides and flash flood warnings across Central U.S. states. Colorado witnessed a spate of intense rain followed by mudslides that has closed off a 74-km stretch of Interstate highway I-70 which passes through the Rocky mountains. Over 100 motorists had to reportedly take shelter in a tunnel after the mudslides and rain blocked the highway. They were rescued the following day. There is no word on when the I-70 closure in Glenwood Canyon, Colorado will re-open for motorists.
