2021 MIDYEAR ECONOMIC REPORT
The country has been touted as one of the most dynamic economies in the region, thanks to sound economic fundamentals and our micro, small, and medium enterprises which contribute a lot to our economy. This, combined with innovations in technology and the widespread use of the internet have created a dynamic, a more open economy - with digital payments now becoming ubiquitous, more accessible, and affordable, thereby propelling the progressive shift towards a cash-lite economy.
Despite the economic crunch caused by the pandemic, the country is expected to rebound steadily as we adapt innovative and more responsive digital financial services that can help stimulate domestic activity bolstered by greater consumer and business confidence and public investment momentum.
