मुस्लिम संप्रदाय में बकरीद को कुर्बानी के त्योहार के रूप में मनाए जाने की परंपरा है। पैगंबर इब्राहिम ने अल्लाह के आदेश पर अपने 10 साल के बेटे की कुर्बानी देना कुबूल किया था, तभी से कुर्बानी की परंपरा चली आ रही है। ईद उल अजहा के दिन हर कोई अल्लाह को कुर्बानी देना चाहता है लेकिन कुर्बानी के कुछ नियम हैं। इन नियमों के आधार पर ही अल्लाह को कुर्बानी दी जा सकती है। आइए जानते हैं कि कुर्बानी के नियम क्या हैं। – इस्लाम में गरीबों और मजलूमों का खास ध्यान रखने की परंपरा है। बकरीद पर अल्लाह के पास ह‌ड्ड‌ियां, मांस या फिर खून नहीं पहुंचता है, उनके पास खुशु पहुंचती है यानी देने का जज्‍बा। आप समाज की भलाई के लिए क्या और कितना कर सकते हैं। किसी भी जानवर की कुर्बानी केवल एक प्रतिकात्मक कुर्बानी है।
