Maa Kushmanda, the fourth form of Maa Durga, is worshiped on the fourth day of Gupt Navratri. On this day the mind and the mind of the seeker remain situated in the circle of motion. In such a situation, seekers should worship Maa Kushmanda with a concentrated mind. It is written in religious texts that Mother Kushmanda created the universe on the Chaturthi of Shukla Paksha of Ashwin month. Mother's abode is in the world located in the solar system. Only Adishakti, the mother of the universe, can reside at this place.

गुप्त नवरात्रि के चौथा दिन मां दुर्गा के चौथे स्वरूप मां कूष्मांडा की पूजा-उपासना की जाती है। इस दिन साधक का मन और मस्तिष्क गति चक्र में अवस्थित रहता है। ऐसे में साधकों को मां कूष्मांडा की पूजा एकाग्र मन से करनी चाहिए। धार्मिक ग्रंथों में लिखा है कि मां कूष्मांडा ने अश्विन माह की शुक्ल पक्ष की चतुर्थी को ब्रह्मांड की रचना की थी। मां का निवास स्थान सूर्यमंडल में अवस्थित लोक में है। इस स्थान पर केवल जगत जननी आदिशक्ति ही निवास कर सकती है।
