A major challenge that has emerged in Bihar is vaccinating the thousands of flood victims who have been either displaced or stranded in hundreds of villages in several districts of the state.

To this end, the state government has pressed into service boats to ensure that Covid-19 inoculation is carried out even in areas that are submerged under flood waters. The initiative has been met with success, as medical teams travel to flood-hit and far-off villages using boats.
